Equipment Trends 2013: New Products

Heavy-duty equipment manufacturers are continually improving and the most popular ones were asked to share their insights about their newest products for the previous year. Bobcat, JCB, John Deere, Mustang and many others, introduced new safer, more economical and hi-tech products in 2013 seting new industry trends.

JBC Loaders

In 2013, JCB updated its compact track and skid-steer loader production line with new Ecomax engine suitable for all models. The JCB Ecomax engine improves fuel economy, provides better performance and lowers the maintenance cost. Also, the loader downtime is minimized as there is no after treatment. A JCB loader with an Ecomax engine is safer and provides better visibility of the work area. To accommodate the preferences of any operator, all skid-steer and compact track loaders feature new electro-hydraulic controls with three operator modes.

Bobcat

Bobcat brand kept low profile in 2013 and made only few changes in its production. The company redesigned the 324, E63 and E85 loader. That is not a coincidence, because in late 2012 Bobcat has launched the 500 frame-sized skid-steer loader and compact track loader, including 7 new medium-sized skid-steer and compact track loaders.

John Deere

In 2013, John Deere came out with numerous new products, including the three new series of ZTraks mowers and the new walk-behind series. The most notable ones were the two series of QuikTrak stand-on mowers: the B and R series. The QuikTrak B Series features a loader with a 22-24 horsepower engine, flat-free front tires, a 7-gauge adjustable deck and sealed front caster bearings.

Mustang

Mustang introduced new line of skid-steer loaders in 2013. It is the R Series which includes three models: 1900R, 2200R and 2600R. All provide an excellent visibility, fine motion and increased safety. Each model of skid-steer loader of the R Series has a new designed fully enclosed cab, which provides an excellent comfort and control of the operator, with joystick controls for easy operation.

Honda Power Equipment

Honda Power Equipment has made a significant improvement, introducing new versions of its HRX and HRR walk-behind mowers. Both series were featured with great updates that have improved their performance and operation. The HRR models got a new design, which was instantly well-accepted. Also, a new law mower of the HRR series was introduced, which is self-propelled and has an electric start capability for easy start up.
