Less Is More: Trendy Little Items That Can Refine Your Home

Oh, Spring, how eagerly you have been awaited! I don’t know about you, my dear readers, but I’m not a big fan of the sweater weather. All of the dark lifeless colours simply don’t speak to my soul. Spring, on the other hand, sings me the most beautiful melodies. Yes, springtime is the time for positive changes, the season when everything comes to life once again. This is exactly when I’m most inspired to redecorate and refresh my home (including my patio) with the help of some trendy and tasteful small items, ones that never cost as much as new furniture pieces, but always do the trick.

I believe that cushions, rugs, and tiny souvenirs from our favourite family vacations, if chosen and placed carefully, can become wonderful additions to our living room, dining room, as well as to our outdoor space. If you don’t agree with me on this one, then I must say that you probably haven’t visited the right stores yet. I’m not saying that finding stunning modern indoor and outdoor cushions and stylish floor rugs is impossible, but you do need to look for these elements in more than one shop to accomplish that. Trust me – once you do, you will be amazed by all of the unique patterns and high-quality materials some of them are made of.

However, before you start your search, let me tell you what’s in vogue right now. Inspired by this year’s best-selling prints and patterns, many interior designers have begun advising their customers to give floral patterned cushions and rugs a chance. Their fashionable design and vibrant colours can easily revive even the most monotonous of all places. In case flower motifs are not your cup of tea, you can always pick simpler but still bold enough to make a statement cushions and rugs. The only thing I would like to remind you of is the need to be careful when shopping for these home décor elements, for they should complement your room’s look, not ruin it.

When it comes to placing your precious souvenirs, vases, picture frames, and other similar tiny objects around your house or apartment, I’m sure that there’s nothing you can do wrong. All you need to do is scan the room you want them in and try to find the perfect spot for each item.

That’s right: you don’t have to spend a small fortune on an elegant leather sofa bed or a new outdoor lounge set to spice thing up. Sometimes, the littlest details can play the most important role.
